Emberhollow Saga

Emberhollow Saga is the rare mobile RPG that doesn't feel embarrassed to be a full RPG. You build a party of four, learn a skill tree that actually branches in meaningful ways, and work through a story about a fading kingdom that has more grey areas than I expected going in.

Combat is turn-based and leans on positioning. Enemies react to where you stand, which spells you've already cast, and how you've buffed your team. It's the kind of system where a fight you lost badly becomes trivial once you understand the pattern, and that click of realization is what kept me coming back.

The presentation is clean, the writing has some genuinely funny moments, and the menus don't fight you. If I had one complaint it's that the early hours are a little slow, but push past them and there's a real game here.
